Amy was fed up with feeling tired, and she wanted to get control of her health and live healthier with diabetes. As a busy mom, she needed the energy for her family. She chose the 60 Day Guided Reboot for Diabetes to help her stay accountable to her goals… and also because she wasn’t confident she could stick with it. By the end of the program, she had lost 30 pounds.* More importantly, she gained confidence in herself and conviction that she CAN reach her goals.
Amy Jones, 60 Day Guided Reboot for Diabetes
I decided to do the Guided Reboot because I knew I needed the support. And after 60 days, I leave with a much better understanding of the underlying physiology of diabetes.
Now I am equipped with knowledge of things that I can truly do to live a healthier life.
The first couple of weeks I really, really struggled with feeding my family dinner and not eating with them. I am amazed at how much has changed and the grip that food had on my life has loosened.
Now, I actually crave VEGETABLES. I never in my wildest dreams thought that was even remotely possible.
Recently, I had a procedure at my doctor’s office and had to be without food and fluids for almost 24 hours. When I was done, my husband took me out for lunch and I ordered a heaping plate of vegetables, it was crazy.
I am my own worst enemy, so I am working on being nice to myself. Having lost 30 pounds* has definitely helped with that.
The homework near the beginning of the Guided Reboot with willpower expert Kelly McGonigal was literally life changing for me. I have watched the video multiple times, taken notes, and made a list of the “defensive pessimism” questions.
My husband is a sales manager, and he has also used those questions with his sales staff to help them be more successful. It is crazy good information.
My biggest take away from all of this is that I CAN DO THIS. I never really believed that I could make the hard changes. I am still trying to be more physically active, and I don’t always eat the best food for me. BUT my blood sugars have been beautiful for almost 2 months now. I am excited to have my blood work checked again to see how my A1c has changed.
I would have quit when the cravings were soooo deep and hard. I remember literally trembling because I had such intense cravings. That hasn’t happened in weeks.
I have never felt so empowered, and I know that would not have happened without the support from the other members of the group.
My coach was amazing through everything. It meant so much to me that she checked in on me during my first week, and especially when I was so ill. I never would have made it past the first week on my own.
I’m so thankful for my Guided Reboot for helping facilitate change in my life.
